Quiet They took the breakfast up at 9:00. It's such a large place it took us a while to find it, so by the time we got there at 9:05 it had been removed. Most motels keep the breakfast until 10:00 which is more reasonable. The only thing I was able to get was lukewarm coffee. No adjustment on the room rate either.
Rooms smelled of mildew.
Indoor pool, breakfast included No TV remote and no assistance when requested, cheap mattress, our car was broken into and items stolen. Hotel said there was nothing they could do.
My husband and I loved this crazy place!! We booked at the last minute through Kayak and paid very little for our room and it was perfect for what we needed (we even paid the extra $1 to upgrade to a king-sized bed). I loved that everything was accessible from indoors as it was rather cold and windy outside that day. The location was perfect and just off the interstate. Our room was clean, quiet (on the far end of the building), comfortable and reasonable equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful and always available, and it had a bar (where we enjoyed a $1.95/pint special of Blue Moon, w/fresh orange slices, while waiting for our confirmation via Kayak), a darling Route 66 restaurant (where a decent breakfast was served in the morning) and we parked just outside the hotel entrance. The indoor atrium pool/hot tub and recreation center both looked liked fun, but sadly we had no time for either. Highly recommend this place if you want a touch of “swank” and comfort on a limited budget. Just be prepared that it’s glory days are in the past and you’ll be fine. Great, great value for money. As with most inexpensive hotels, some extra scrubbing, a bit of paint and some minor repairs would go a long way.
Sadly, this hotel is in need of a major overhaul. The repairs needed are to numerous to list. The bed was hard and old. this is not even close to a two star hotel.
Friendly staff, clean bed, "business" center. What it lacks in updates, this old girl more than makes up for in value. The room itself had all the accommodations of a modern corporate hotel: down pillows, coffee pot, new TV. The elevator was out of service, although that added to the atmosphere.
Low price and friendly staff Our bathtub didn't drain (we had to use the shower in a room on the other end of the hotel) and the bathroom wasn't very clean.
This hotel has great nice clean rooms and good breakfast in the morning.
Clean rooms, staff friendly, breakfast okay, microwave and frig in room. Did not have bacon or sausage on breakfast just eggs and gravy. Plug in room did not work. I plugged my computer in thinking it would charge and it went dead in a day and I thought it was broke until I figured out what happened.
Well maintained and clean rooms. Polite and friendly staff. Wish breakfast would be served until 10:00 instead of 9:30.
We often travel between Texas and Colorado and vice-versa. The Drury Inn and Suites in Amarillo has become our standard overnight resting place. It is conveniently located, clean, and quiet. The popcorn machine in the lobby creates a smell of rancid grease throughout the ground-level and second floors of the hotel. I guess that some folks like the popcorn, but I'm not in that group.
Room was nice.. Check in counter was a lil rude upon arrival..
I didn't bother to check in when I pulled up and saw the poor condition of the motel. I drove on to Tucumcari and found a better, safer motel to stay in. I lost my non-refundable pre payment, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
The quality of the room. the fact that I couldn't get wireless internet during the day.
Good water pressure. Friendly staff. Very dirty and outdated
Nothing The Hotel is located in a very seedy part of Amarillo, TX. We had to wait 15 minutes to check-in as there was only one staff member on duty. We were expecting a smoke-free room, upon opening the door we were overwhelmed by the smell of stale cigarette smoke and a room that was stifling hot. Upon inspection of the room we found dead bugs lying on the bathroom floor and towels, face cloths and wash cloths for 2, when we had advised and booked for 3 adults. When requesting additional were advised that the hotel was out of additional bathroom towels etc. until the next day. The bedding that was used on our beds the 2nd day had fresh blood on the sheet. The breakfast provided was of such poor quality and the breakfast room so dirty and unclean we opted to go out for our morning meal rather than take the chance of becoming ill from the food and/or the open, overflowing trash containers. The Hotel, as a whole is dirty, and desperately needs to be closed until it has had a COMPLETE overhaul and a clean bill of health from the health department. Wyndham Hotel group needs to visit both of the Baymont's located in Amarillo and close them until they are redone to a much higher standard or better yet level them, as they are 20 years past their use by date.
It was a comfy bed to sleep in after a long road trip and they had a good breakfast in the morning. For the price, it was good. When I called I was told they were booked for the night even though I had just looked them up online. I then went back online and booked a room after hanging up... I didn't have a problem checking in but noticed that the woman who walked in right behind me wasn't even acknowledged and had to wait about 10 minutes while I checked in and stand there awkwardly. I thought that was rude that the front desk didn't even tell her they would be right with her, or ask the other employee I saw sitting in the office to assist. Once in the room, our fridge didn't work and neither did the shower. I had to wash my hair over the running water in the tub.
