There were barking dogs on our floor. We do not stay in pet friendly hotels for this very reason. The fact that it was NOT clearly advertised to be pet friendly up front caused us to waste time and money on a day w a 15hour drive..we ended up doing in one day. we were reimbursed for half the room rate...better than no refund at all. The days inn staff were understanding
The front desk staff were warm, friendly, and very professional. The adjacent Mad Mex is better than the average hotel restaurant, and you can't beat the location if you want to be on campus in about two minutes (on foot). Parking's a bit pricey, but it's a godsend in a busy town where parking's at a premium.
This hotel did everything a hotel should do, it was clean, comfortable and had an enjoyable little mini Towncenter with a garden, fountain and restaurant
Close to University carpets worn, elevator dirty. no breakfast (as far as I could see)
always stay at this hotel because of the business center, I don't travel much and i don't have a laptop, so the business center allows me the use of computer for business and social networking!!!
Clean, comfy. A lot of street noise, but to be expected in a college town.
Awesome downtown location and the Pool was a hit with the kids:)
Close to downtown and business, price was acceptable, staff was good, decent parking Difficult to find vending machines; (carpet was a worn down; older decor- . . . not a major problem, but noticeable)
Rooms were nice and clean. Staff courteous, helpful. Beautiful hotel. Double queen bed rooms are kind of small for a family with two younger children. We brought a pack and play for the little one. Worked out good.
Terrible room and although the front desk confirmed only 50% occupancy, and it was only a one night stay, they refused to change me to a better room. Room window looked into an internal wall and ceiling. Among the worst hotel rooms I have ever styed in. Btw, it was not a highly discounted rate either. It was maybe $10 off the normal rate on the website. Have travellled to State College at least annually for over 30 years. Never used Days Inn State College before, and never will again.
The room was very clean & comfortable. The staff was pleasant & friendly.
Upgraded since we were last there, very comfortable beds bathroom small and tight for 2 people
wonderful unique room! Cozy corner to read (#290), Friendly staff, easy check-in / out, quick shuttle service to Arts Festival, responsive engineering staff to broken clock, Garden restaurant was great for breakfast! Room was very crisp and clean, high and low, bathroom floor was very clean! BIG windows were a plus, too! Excellent lighting options - all on florescent or low reading lights, desk light! Clean vent in the shower, new carpet needed or a very deep cleaning. Hot Tub not warm enough, Keirig - spot where you put the cup was filled with dirty water (the catch cup thing).
Beautiful, comfortable, and convenient
The staff were excellent with the exception of the breakfast hostess.
Hotel was new and EXTREMELY clean. Everything from the grout in the bathroom to the rug in the room was spotless. My king-size room came equipped with complementary mini-fridge and microwave. Hotel has a small workout facility, which I took advantage of, and even had some extra nice touches, like free coffee and cookies in the lobby, that was out 24/7. Front desk staff courteous and helpful. Sufficient parking and just down the road from PSU. Whenever I come to Penn State again, this is definitely where I will choose to stay. Nothing. I don't have one negative thing to say about this hotel
Convenient and clean Beds could be updated maids were noisy at 7:30 am
Very clean. Friendly staff. Spacious room Noisy air conditioning.
Staff is pleasant, helpful and extremely courteous. room 6092 sink is clogged very slow draining.
Location, Location, Location. Right on campus, so if visiting Penn State, this is it !!! I've had small rooms and large rooms. This time I got lucky and got a nice large room. However, not nearly enough outlets available for guests' use. Only one outlet accessible in room. It's apparent, lots of students work here, but they seem to be teaching mediocrity. Why isn't it being run like a Ritz Carlton. Teach Perfection and the best way to run a hotel !! I was supposed to be picked up at the airport by their shuttle, and apparently, the person taking my reservation never signed me up in the reservation book (or wherever he's supposed to put it). Also, given the wrong price of the dinner buffet (by Over $10/person).
Would like to see complimentary coffee and Danish for am
Service was outstanding. Dinner in the restaurant was exquisite. Staff makes you feel at home. Great proximity to PSU venues and the airport. Complimentary shuttle service to local destinations is an excellent ammenity. Free apples for guests in the lobby! There are no cons to staying here. It might be a bit pricey for some, but the value is excellent for the service and convenience provided at this location.
Our room was exceptionally large compared to some hotels. They let us check in early too. No refrigerator or microwave. There was a microwave by the front desk for all to use, I did not see it till we left.
They said they had breakfast but was a bit sparse.
ordinarily it would be a good value for the money, but they tripled their prices for a football weekend, which means that it was less than a good value for what you get. clean and relatively quiet family with dog in room next to me. they left the dog alone for long periods, during which it howled and barked the whole time.
Great value for sure and easy access to campus and surrounding area attractions. Room was exactly what I expected. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable... Wish ALL rooms had a fridge tho.... Breakfast is usually good as well.... Greg is a GREAT people person who works the over night shift...... Very helpful and always cheerful and polite to guests..... Stayed in a room after a busy weekend and it wasnt the cleanest it could have been.... Food substance on window ledge for some reason..... Coffee pot dusty and when ran water through it there was stuff floating in the water....
Location. Plenty of places to eat. Because we were a family, it would have been good to have a little mini fridge in the room for left overs
Before I booked the hotel I read the reviews and I took a chance. I'm glad I did! I have no clue why someone would rate the hotel low. I have been in hotels for twice the price and this hotel was really a good deal for the price and very clean!! Don't hesitate!
We arrived on Friday evening before the Penn State football game. The hotel staff kindly welcomed us at the front entrance with cookies, water, and other snacks. The location was easy to find and not too far from campus, although not walkable. Our room was clean and better than I had expected. The bed was comfortable and clean. There was a breakfast but we did not utilize it. WiFi was also available for free in the room. Our hotel room was located just around the corner from the front lobby on the main floor. Although this was convenient for getting out to our vehicle the hallway was noisy. We could hear people talking in the hallway from inside our room throughout much of the night. I wish we had been given a more quiet room.
Plenty of families staying there. Construction workers gave us a better feeling of security. Seriously. The doors to motel did not lock. Anybody from street could walk in and get on elevator. No security cameras.
