I was very satisfied, was even able to check in hours ahead of schedule and was upgraded to a better room. The location is fantastic as well as the view, staff was attentive and courteous, definitely recommend this place.
Great location and the staff was fantastic. Taxi dropped us off at the wrong Westin just 3 blocks away.
the bed was very comfortable. The restaurants and lounge were enjoyable.
Great location, clean hotel, GREAT bed. Best sleep I've had in a while. Bathroom was nothing to write home about and parking is a bit expensive
Good value for you money. Very clean. Good facilities. Bed too soft, it is like it is just made entirely of pillow. I had some maintenance issues in my room, which they fixed, but they wanted me to move instead.
Clean friendly $44 parking cost and one way streets with only two valets
Rooms were good size with a nice view. Big screen TV. Downtown location near to attractions. Didn't sleep well because the mattress was a bit lumpy. Gave me a backache. The breakfast menu is pricey. $44/day for parking. Hotel like Westin should have free parking available for guests.
The amazing view, the helpful and friendly staff, and the amazing deal!
Loved the staff. The woman at the front desk was super friendly and nice and her alone would make me want to come back and enjoy the Westin again!
3 blocks from coaster, very comfortable, free shuttle to the airport, beds are fantastic They nickel and dime you for in-room wifi (seriously?)
The room was very comfortable and had a nice layout.
this Hotel is on nice area, walk distance to Midway museum & seaport Village, very convenience & we will definitely come back again for vacation!
Everything! Service and location was best Dusty room
- Great location - Great drinking & dining options - Great interior design and decor - Clean - Loud guests after 10pm - A little on the expensive side - Add-on expenses (parking, water, etc)
Our checkin was quick and we love the location. I expected room to be a little cleaner for what we paid...
Unlimited Access To EVERYTHING FUN Leaving
Beautiful views of the marina, which is right out the back door. Great view of Coronado from the pool/jacuzzi deck. Nice ocean breeze. Proximity to Gaslamp Quarter is just a walk away, or a short cab ride. Staff is friendly and on top of cleanliness and service for guest needs. Pretty much top notch all around. Parking in the structure was difficult. More compact parking spots than regular size it seemed, which inevitably means trucks and oversized vehicles are going to park there anyway, so they do. Also, when we pulled up to valet, they said it was full, however, there were plenty of valet spots open in the parking structure. Maybe it was because we were in a Kia Sorento rather than a BMW X5. Also, once you do get parked, there is ONE elevator, or ONE set of stairs to get up and down to and from your car, which is very inconvenient. Once inside the hotel and settled though, aside from over priced food and drinks, it's a great luxurious family hotel. You get what you pay for. If It Were TOO easy, EVERYONE AND Their Mother Would Stay there. Overall: Parking=Booooooooooo! Staff, service and rooms=Yaaaayyyyy!
View. Room size. Location. When I woke up in the AM i noticed my iPhone was covered in dust. I then noticed the desk with my black laptop, across from the air conditioning vent was also covered in dust particles. This is a big deal for me because I have a dust mite allergy, but still have never seen this level of dust collect just overnight. I think the air filter vents in these rooms are very very dirty and just blow dust all night as Long as the AC is running. I was extremely congested all day due to my allergy and had a hard day networking at my convention. Also, the TV service this day and age is sub-poor. No guide and some of the channels didn't work "no signal".
Great service and friendly staff. Room was clean and updated (with an incredible view). Also a great location for hitting the downtown SD spots. Only downside (very minor) is the breakfast in the hotel restaurant is buffet only. Would've liked an option to just get some eggs and a juice without paying $40 for all-you-can-eat. But there are plenty of other places to eat, so no worries. I'd definitely stay there again.
Facilities Location & price.
The room was beautiful and clean! The facilities were amazing and the gym was phenomenal. So much is available at this hotel. It's truly "grand".
The view They changed $47 for parking
The hotel motif is very modern. Clean and simple lines. Really liked the gym. Very well equipped and fairly clean. The people who use the equipment seem to be cleaning after themselves. I liked the cafe downstairs as they had what I would eat on my special diet. I booked a room with a view and we had a view of the bridge and the boat harbor. The hotel next door had major renovation so we entertained ourselves watching the workers walk around and move stuff around with equipment. I know CA has water shortage but the sink water pressure was ridiculously low. So much so that the water temp would not reach warm. I ended up using the shower for brushing my teeth. The garage does not accomedate large cars which made it difficult to park the Suburban, not XL just normal size. There are some spots but the compact cars park there and 90% of the parking spots are really compact. The stairs in the parking structure need to be cleaned and aired out they have an intense urine smell. We like to take the stairs but kept with the elevator for that reason.
Comfortable rooms and beds. Super friendly staff.
Hotel was clean. Staff was very friendly. The decor was modern and neat. Location was convenient. I made a special request (wanted a photo to be displayed in the room) when making the reservation and the staff did an excellent job with my request. We asked for a room with a view, but our view was terrible. We were very disappointed with this. The room was also much, much smaller than I would've expected. I've stayed in tons of hotels and have never had a room so tiny. The shower looked cool in theory but in reality because there was no door, water leaked out onto the floor. The bathroom door, too- cool in theory, but if you value your privacy, it's not for you- it slides shut but doesn't actually close, so you won't have total privacy in there. Valet is $40 a night. Attached restaurant (Saltbox) had decent food but VERY slow service. Overall, not a bad place to stay, but we found that what we experienced definitely did NOT warrant the price tag that accompanies a stay at this hotel. Next time we visit, we will be staying elsewhere.
Had booked a skyline room and upon arrival front desk told us they had overbooked and put us in a huge skyline suite. Courteous staff, awesome room with a great view and walking distance to all the nightlife in gas lamp. Will be coming back soon
The atmosphere was upscale and classy, felt great staying at a great hotel. Room service was a little steep (typical...) but the food was delicious - the staff recommended some foods that were spot on. Room decor was great, modern and classy. Hardwood floors made it feel a little upscale. The bathroom is just a total mess. Shower head position is too low for anyone 5'5" or taller - requiring you to use the head manually (why???). Bathroom door is a sliding door but doesn't exactly provide too much privacy since you can see through the cracks - perfect angle if you want to watch your friend on the toilet... Iron was awful - took way too long and was just cheap overall or needed replacing. Cleanliness was awkward - arrived at the hotel (6pm) and was told our room needs to be cleaned. We arrived in the room, saw the hardwood floors were soaking wet (slipping lawsuit anyone?) and found residual items from the previous guests. Would be nice to upgrade those 2003 radios to the new iphone 5 or usb players...
The location to Gas Lamp District was perfect! The cost of overnight parking.....
Location and staff bed uncomfortable, shower rain head, video/TV system slow/
Many user experience design issues. Rain shower is hard to wash hair in, no ability to angle it at all. No tub and nothing to prop up for to shave legs. No door on shower. Door on bathroom was not a real door and didn't close all the way. Awkward! Certainly not romantic!! Not enough hooks to hang towels. Not enough towels, only gave us 3 for two people. Hairdryer was super cheap, would expect at least a normal one if not a nice one. Nowhere to plug in anything at the desk. Front desk staff seemed very forced/rushed.
Nice location downtown. Pet friendly Absolutely terrible. We paid for a skyline suite. The room shared, SHARED windows with the pool area. Three feet from the king bed were massive windows from the pool area. People knocking on the windows, clean-up crew spraying a hose on the windows at 3am. Tons of foot traffic right outside of our room next to the pool. Upon check-in, we were not told there would be an event at the pool from 4pm until 3am!!! Bad move Palomar staff. Bad move. Never stay here again. Absolutely disappointing and ridiculous. Too bad. We have had positive experiences at the Palomar in Phoenix. Not San Diego.
The decor was very modern Staff was rude, the room was very small. Pool was closed for a wedding on Saturday, they told us we could walk six blocks to their sister hotel to swim, not interested. Wedding party was loud, disruptive. When we spoke to the manager to express our concern his response was "NO, the noise is not coming from the wedding party on the 4th floor." We called Kempton Hotels to express our concern, they said a manager would call us back. We did not ever receive a call back. We will not be staying at a Kempton Hotel in the future
Staff was very friendly Overpriced for what I received.
Best hotel staff I have interacted with in a while. Very very helpful and easy to work with . Justin was awesome! Also enjoyed: the Apartment style hominess was comforting and the boutique style added some flare. Nice that pool was heated, cable TV, good location for downtown. I would visit again. Not-so-Hot: the shower got too hot, or too cold.... Room was very small and not laid out in a way to take advantage of best space possible. Pool was so small and NO JACUZZI. And no views.... No docking station for iPhone 5 or USB outlets
Great help with the dog! We had a great time!
