The location of the hotel is very nice. It's surrounded by trees and up a hillside. The views aren't all that spectacular, but we could see the ocean off in the distance from our 3rd floor room. It's very close to the highway, but it wasn't noisy, so that was nice as well. When we got to the lobby, the hotel staff wasn't very friendly. They weren't rude, just not as friendly as you would expect from a stay at a decent hotel. Three of the two counters were open with attendants, but not one of them looked up to say anything to us until the third finally did when he was done helping another guest. It would have been nice to get at least a "Hello, we will be with you in just a moment". When we got to the room, there was a huge puddle of water that was leaking from the AC to the floor. It's not like it was tucked away in a corner either, you had to step through it to get to the balcony. The room also felt very damp and muggy as a result. We were not impressed, but since we were only staying one night and completely exhausted by the time we reached the hotel, we didn't want to go through the hassle of moving all of our stuff into another room. We informed an attendant upon check out, and all we got was an "OK, thanks for letting us know, we will do something about it". Wasn't quite sure what that meant, but I haven't heard from the hotel since. It would have been nice to get an apology at the very least.
Beautiful surroundings. Nice lounge and fireplace. Great place for drinks I little too kid friendly, since we were an adult couple with no kids.
No AC in room.
Everyone from the front desk staff, the servers and bartenders, and the housekeepers did an amazing job. I work in the service industry in a casino/resort, and yet I experienced better service and a better experience with the staff at the Hyatt than where I work. A+++. The only things I didn't like had nothing to do with the hotel and its staff. It isn't located downtown, so it is a very short trek to the festivities in town. Also, it sounded like a large man was doing burpees in the room above us.
Super nice staff. The $22 resort fee includes parking and internet. A little farther from the wharf/tourists spots.
We enjoyed the recently updated rooms including the very nice bathroom with vanity and open shower. We enjoyed very tasty room service meals (dinner and breakfast). We also used the pool which was pleasantly warm. The toilet was a bit of a tight fit with walls on either side. The air conditioner was a standing machine which had an exhaust that was separated form the back and until we reattached it poured hot exhaust over the air-conditioning.
Clean facilities, close to Wharf and other fun activities. So noisy! Do not get a first floor room. You can hear EVERY footstep the family above takes.
Checking in was not only expedient but flawless. Had no issues at all, was in my room within 10 minutes of pulling up to the front door. Room was excellent and I do suggest the pool view.
Quick drive into downtown Monterey. Nice rooms and property.
The grounds were really beautiful! Green and well landscaped, the pool area looked like a lot of fun. There were games by the pool, and fire pits near the hot tubs. We went to our room, and the first thing we noticed was a very large yellow stain on the bed. The top sheets were white, you couldn't miss this stain! Bluntly lazy on house keeping's part. While we were calling down to get a new room, we noticed water damage or mold around the ceiling fan, the counters in the bathroom were dirty, the shower stall was dirty and the computer desk had something sticky on it. When the gentlemen came to help us with our bags and escort us to our new room, we expressed our disappointment in general with the rooms, outdated and no where near as nice as Hyatts we'd stayed at before. His response was " well, it's a whole other standard here". Our other room was clean. However, after that gentlemens response our disappointment with the quality of the rooms and the negligence of the house keeping, we decided to get our money back and stay at BW. For the cost of staying at Hyatt, I expect clean rooms and accommodating staff. I always try to point out the good, but the room condition was just unbelievable....
Comfortable bed, dog friendly, good location. Twice in one day our keys would not open the door and required us to wait outside for someone to bring new ones over.
Great location, just off hwy 1 and easy to get to. Card reader on room repeatedly rejected keys, but front desk was helpful!
Great location, helpful staff. All around nice place to stay in Monterey.
Lovely location right in the heart of Cannery Row and on the waterfront. This is not an inexpensive hotel but let's face it this is an InterContinental brand not a Motel 6. If you want to splurge this is a good choice however if you don't need a waterfront view and stay in the connected bldg. across the street you can get a room with a fireplace for less. I found this hotel to be relaxing and the staff helpful. Even without a waterfront room they have a large deck area looking out into Monterey Bay where you can sit in front of a fire pit with your friends or by yourself and sip your favorite beverage and enjoy the view and some down time from busy Cannery Row.
Mainly the location. walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Montery Aquarium. We enjoyed having breakfast and watch the sunrise. The bathtub was too small even I am 5foot 115lb woman. The pillow top was too thick and it was too hot for me.
This was a great location within walking distance of phenomenal dining and wine tasting rooms. Room was exceptional, the service excellent and the spa personnel accommodating. First deep tissue massage I ever tapped out for a slightly lesser pressure. We will return over and over again. You have to stay here when in Monterrey! Nothing
Nice rooms, and great restaurant attached to hotel with an extensive wine menu
The location It was no better than a holiday express, but much more expensive. Beds were miserably uncomfortable.
Liked how we could purchase 2 day aquarium tickets for the same price. That was very convenient. I didn't need a mini bar in he room. But would of liked a microwave and mini fridge.
Excellent service Noisiest hotel in Monterey
I really loved the location !!! And the beds are comfort , lobby was nice . Jacuzzi closes at 10:30 even on weekend :(
The location was great. Right in the middle of Cannary Row. The pool was small.
Friendly staff I thought booking a hotel right next to the water that I could be hearing waves in the tranquility of the evening. Instead I hear cars and foot traffic because our room is all the way back and faces the garage. This hotel was almost three times the cost of any equivalent hotel if it wasn't next to the waves I didn't get to hear.
You can't beat the location- just a block away from the Monterrey Bay Aquarium and right on Cannery Row. Staff was all very nice and the facilities were top notch. The restaurant was not pricey and not very good. This is a small complaint, as the view was outstanding and there are plenty of better places to eat within easy walking distance. Would have been nice if wifi was included with room.
Frühstück in Ordnung - typisches Continental Breakfast. Freundliches Personal. Kostenloses WLAN funktioniert gut.
value for money good it is 70 USD, normally I spend USD 120 per night,
