Hotel receptionist at the front lobby. Upon checking in, he literally gave keys and handed it over. Didn't explain anything else, parking, amenities, etc
The facility is so outdated that during our recent stay for Labor Day weekend the AC unit, which was only a wall plugged unit, failed. The room temperature was unbearably hot due to a heat wave. I called about the problem in afternoon and kept getting the run-around from the management that facility was going to fix it soon. I kept calling and visiting the front desk and finally at 11:00 pm the management told me that there was nothing they could do. Needless to say, our stay was very frustrating. I would not recommend staying at this facility while visiting Monterey especially during the summer.

Eigentlich nicht sehr viel. Die Lage in unmittelbarer Nähe des Pier war der Hauptgrund, dieses Hotel zu buchen. Die Betten sind selbst für amerikanische Verhältnisse sehr weich und an einen gesunden Schlaf ist kaum zu denken. Zudem sind die Fenster sehr schlecht (Schiebefenster, die selbst in geschlossener Position noch einen deutlichen Spalt aufweisen) und somit war es nachts sehr laut (die eigentlich gute Lage stellte sich als Nachteil heraus, da direkt unter unserem Zimmer die Hauptflaniermeile war und auch Seemöven ziemlich viel Krach machen können).
You would think that a place this convenient on Cannery Row would skimp on the amenities but it does not. The rooms are incredibly spacious and lovely. The beds are incredibly comfortable, although the pillows are a tad too soft. The windows open - a rarity now days - letting in the sea breeze. And it's steps away from the Aquarium and plenty of shops / restaurants.
The location It was no better than a holiday express, but much more expensive. Beds were miserably uncomfortable.
The valet was super nice and helpful. The young woman checking me in was friendly as well. I was happy with my stay
As we were checking in, we were told that we had signed up for two queen beds. As this was the one night in over 4 years that we got to spend together without her kids, I had made sure when I reserved the room it was for a king bed. After 10 minutes of negotiating, the lady at the front desk assigned is to a wheelchair accessible room with the king bed. Paying $400+ for the night, we were not very happy with the type of room we were assigned to. The bed itself was very uncomfortable. The mattress was very cheap and sagging on each side. The pillows were made of practically nothing but air. To add to the lovely stay, at 1:00 am we were awoken to the the fire alarm going off and loud flashing blinking lights in our room. The entire hotel had to evacuate and after the fireman came to turn the alarm off, we went back to our room. It was safe to say at this point we wouldn't get much sleep. As we complained to the front desk about our stay, they apologized and offered nothing to us. I will NEVER stay at this Marriott again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
