Lobby and pool area very nice walls and carpet in the room badly stained. Hallways and entrances were dirty and not secure.
We booked the weekend her because it was $20 cheaper than anything else with a pool. By the time we checked out I would have paid $100 extra for a hotel that's not falling apart!
Beautiful pool and nice bar When I checked into my room there were no beds!! I had to wait over an hour for a different room to be available. When I finally got a room, It did not appear to be clean. All of the appiences were unplugged and I cut myself on the mini fridge handle
Very friendly staff, clean hotel, nice security, and surprisingly cozy and heavenly beds and linens. My husband and I were just there for work and the Inn was a convenient location, but we ended up really enjoying our time there. I woke up early and took a quiet walk around the beautiful historic square and then came back for a quiet, warm swim in their pool. Everything was very peaceful, clean, and well-thought out. Breakfast was great, too!
some reviews say this hotel is in need of updating. Yes the hotel is older but I found it to be clean, the carpet is newer and the rooms are fine. And I stay at a lot of hotels (not motels) in a given year and They no longer have the fitness center on location, you need to drive to use a local one. NOT FUN WHEN WINTER COMES AND YOU HAVE TO GET INTO A COLD CAR AT 5:30AM TO GO WORK OUT. It takes so little to have one at the hotel.
Close proximity to the ski hill/resort. Way too many children. We wanted to relax after a day of skiing in the hot tub, only to find that there were 15-20 children swimming in the hot tub. There is also a very big pool for them to swim in. Parents were not attentive and let the kids take over any area they wanted, including the hot tub all night, as well as let them run wild in the hallways early in the morning (6am it started). I called the front desk and they didn't seem to be helpful at all. Will not be staying here again.
I arrived around 12:30 and was told check out had only been "28 minutes ago" and that there was not a clean room yet since they were full the night before. I had only booked a room as a place to get ready for an event I had and a place to sleep for a couple hours. I went and got some food for about an hour and checked back. She still wouldn't give me a room stating she didn't want to put me in a dirty room. Somehow I doubt there was not a single clean room at that point. Unless your housekeepers aren't doing their jobs, it does not take hours to clean a room. She said it was guaranteed check in at 3pm. So I went and changed and put on makeup in their public bathroom since I had to go for soundcheck. I came back at about 3:15 and another girl stated my room was still not ready. She did however "find a clean room" for me. Now, maybe it's just me, but if you know someone is waiting around for a room, wouldn't you have your housekeeping staff clean whichever room you intended to put me in? On top of that, the attitude of this girl was poor. She was short with me as well as being annoyed. I wish I could give her an excuse and say I was rude, but I wasn't. The girl who finally got me a room was much more accommodating.
Ordered a room but snow storm cut the trip short. We needed to stay at another hotel room but couldn't due to already having booked a room. Forced on a dangerous journey back home in treacherous driving conditions. When requested to cancel reservation, super 8 declined to honor the request. What a shoddy bunch of money grabbers. Policy for cancellation
Breakfast is significantly better than a standard Super 8 breakfast, indoor pool and spa are nice and open 24 hrs. Strange rules about parties in rooms and going places. Some sketchy vibes from the staff. Maids did not make either bed one day because we left a pair of pants on one.
Price Room wasnt cleaned as well as I would have like, tub didn't drain while showering, and drain was broke . I would recommend for the price but cleanliness should be considered
Very service-oriented and accomodating. Also loved the free coffee/ tea bar in the lobby.
I thought I had a jacuzzi suite. For $--- I could have found a different room!!Then when I questioned it I was treated rudely!
The pool was quite nice with pool toys which our kids found fun. I expected a Hampton Inn to be really clean and nice...especially for the high price tag, but it wasn't nearly as nice as the Holiday Inn Express we stayed at 2 days before for way less! Breakfast area was cramped, and tons of styrafoam = bad for enviro.
Basic but clean accommodations, free breakfast and close proximity made it easy to hit the slopes at granite peak early. Also close enough to get to downtown restaurants. Plus La Quinta is always dog friendly so we could bring the pooch along as well.
The Wausau La Quinta completely met my expectations - welcoming, clean, and comfortable - without overselling itself. The bed was wonderful, I think there were 5 or 6 pillows and the mattress was very comfortable. Temperature in room was easily regulated. Restaurants near by. Pretty thin walls - turned on the bathroom fan to mute the conversation happening next door.
Pet friendly. Comfortable bed. Wall thermostat with accurate temp control. Coffee in room. Convenient parking. Reliable maid service. Fridge and microwave were handy. Signs of aging. Stingy with towels. Small towels. Sink drain slow. Tub faucet mostly stuck. Tub and toilet in a cramped side room. Many smokers in a nonsmoking facility. No eggs or meat for breakfast. Recliner chair broken, would not fold up.
