It is in downtown. The bed was rock hard. The ice machine was broken. There seemed to be construction and didn't tell us at check in. And their over night workers get rooms and one was accidentally given the room number to my room and tried to enter. No free breakfast and it is not told you have to pay for it till you go to check in.
Very clean The room was very small
Only positive was the staff was friendly and the tv is nice. Other than that the facility was very average. Noise is an issue here. Walls must be paper thin as you can hear conversations from neighboring rooms. There was a foreign substance on the side of the bed that I couldn't figure out. Just overall average at a more expensive rate. Would have expected this stay from a $60-75 a night hotel.
Although my room was fine, it was close to the front entry of facility. The hotel has breakfast area in the same general area which they allowed a group of very noisy people to party until 3:00AM. This is unacceptable to me. As the front desk is directly across from this breakfast area the stall had to be aware of the noise factor, but chose to ignore it. I will never use this facility again.
Nothing After a long road trip, we were looking forward to sleeping in and arrived to learn there was "mix up" in the system and our room was not properly reserved by booking.com. She couldn't even lie well about it. She didn't bother to try to get us into the other Red Roof Inn in Binghamton tried to blame us for the mistake then tried to blame booking.com when they called to clairfy. It was pretty clear they gave the room away. Horrible customer service but booking.com got us another room and covered the difference and we were finally able to sleep by 3am. Red Roof Inn ruined half our minivacation but booking.com saved it. I am sure it was human error in one chain but my father has been using the Red Roof Inn since the 90s and instilled in me how it is a quality value chain and I had inherited that respect. I have used the chain often but have noticed a diminishing in quality and after this horrible incident, I have told everyone I know never to use it and will continue to do so.
Friendly staff, clean room. Great value. Smoke smell of room (I was in non-smoking room). Noisy neighbors. Had to ask them to turn TV down at 4am because they were blasting it.
Old and needs to be updated
The front desk does not have it together Did not have me in the computer did not know i was coming till desk clerk looked in some book and found my reservations. When checking me out i was billed more than i agreed on Kayak. I had to show desk clerk and then he said would correct my credit card. Well how they corrected it was to bill me again 2 times. I had to keep calling to get it finally corrected and it was over a week to get things correct . Never will return
