Large room. Cookies and hot cocoa available. Friendly check in Smoke alarm at 5 am. Evacuation into cold. Later discovered it was caused by someone smoking in a room. After alarm, room keys were reprogrammed with no identification required. Just tell clerk whatever room you want. You could have gotten into anyone's room. Road noise. Train noise. Loud room heater and refrigerator motor cycled on and off all night. I was refused compensation for a horrid night.
PROS: Very friendly people Accommodations Free breakfast Free Wifi Convenient location Safe area High ceilings Large room Mini fridge & microwave in room TV in room (didn't use it though) Free use of washer and dryer (pay for soap or bring your own) Style and decorations Can't hear neighbors Pool Fitness room Environmentally friendly if you care about that sort of thing Flexible policy on extending stay Plenty of parking It is worth noting that the construction is now complete and I did not experience any construction noise. The place looks very beautiful and classy and modern. The people are super friendly and I was able to easily extend my stay immediately just by asking the front desk. THey accidentally charged me a few dollars too much on one of the days inconsistent with the others, but when I pointed it out they immediately fixed the issue happily. I was very pleased with my stay. Even though it was expensive like all hotels are expensive, it wasn't on the high end because there are many hotels twice the price even in this town. The value was very high and it is more value than some of the other cheap seedy motels. It is also very safe here. I accidentally left my car door unlocked one time, and nothing was stolen. However I still recommend to lock your doors, because that is a smart thing to do. I just forgot by accident, but the point is that it is relatively safe. I felt comfortable walking in and out of the hotel and the receptionists wave and smiled to me every time I walked in or left. CONS: Train noise, hard to sleep (I am a light sleeper) Itchy sheets (could be the chemicals because I have sensitive skin) No available outlets next to bed (I used an extension cord to the other side of the room instead) I did have a hard time sleeping here, partly because the sheets were itchy and partly because of the train noise. I was able to get to sleep when I turned on a youtube video of the ocean noise. However it was not bed bugs, I think it was just the chemicals they used because I have very sensitive skin.
As nice as most hotels over$100 per night One of the wash cloths was pretty heavily stained. Not dirty, just stained. I just set it aside, the next day it had been replaced with a new one. Only downside for families would be no indoor pool.
Great environment and wonderful atmosphere with excellent service. I would highly recommend to anyone on business or just a get-away experience.
Everything was great except the pool was closed
Nice lobby area. Employees are friendly. Bed is really comfortable. Close to where I wanted to go. Good price. Non-smoking room had been smoked in by previous guests and housekeeping attempted to disguise smoke smell with air freshener. Bleh. This happens at all hotels so no big deal. I could have asked to switch rooms but didn't bother.
One level. No elevator required. Quite location. Clean room. Laundry. Layout required a bit of a walk for Breakfast.
basic drive up hotel. Clean. Nice families at pool. But, they didn't lock the connecting door before we arrived, so I had visitors at midnight, drunk and disoriented. It was scary and they "couldn't" do anything for me because I had made my reservation through booking.com I'd only stay here if I had to or was with another adult. Loud at night after 10....
You'd think reserving a room six weeks in advance and paying in full would be enough for this hotel to keep your booking but that's not actually true. Someone else can show up before you, take your booking and you'll be transferred to a lesser hotel, miles away and the staff will make you feel like it's your fault. I've stayed in there in past and it was a really mixed experience. The walls are paper thin but it was in a convenient location. I would have stayed again but now I'd say reserve a room at your own risk, who knows what will happen when you get there.
This hotel was cleaner than one I stayed in that had only been open two weeks. Decor a little outdated but the cleanliness of the room made up for it.
Good price for a fair hotel. There was no hot water in the room our first night but the manager moved us to a much better room and hot water the next day.
Everything Well run and the staff is wonderful.
welcoming, friendly staff.
Clean, quiet rooms with dark out blinds. We had two high school sports teams also staying on our floor...and a dog...never heard a thing. The staff went above and beyond. The housekeeper left us personal notes thanking us for the tip and asking what she could do to complete our stay. The last day, a note of blessing for safe travel. The front desk staff helped corral my three toddler grandchildren in the lobby while we visited our four kids. When they got bored and unruly, they found a coloring book, crayons and warm cookies. They were professional and unobtrusive, but very attentive! Spa was hot, the food was delicious. We will use them every time we visit. Wish we had a microwave in our room. There was one in the snack hut/gift shop so no biggie.
It's beautiful and cozy. There was no refrigerator in our room. Some medications need refrigeration like insulin and eye drops. We could have also enjoy a cold beer in our room.
