My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in April '09. It was too pricy for us by my wife works for an airline and we got 50% off. Brand new hotel. Beautiful, oustanding service. Each room has it's own plunge pool. Very private. On a cliff. No swimming beach but they will give you bikes to ride down the hill to a public beach. Otherwise a 5 minute cab ride to Ixtapa or 30 minutes to Zihuatanejo. We stayed just before the swine flu epidemic made news. Of the 59 rooms only about 10 were full when we were there. Had the whole place to ourselves. The economy was really hurting the tourism there. Every night there was a small bucket of Coronas and chips and salsa in the room as a warm up for dinner. Staff would do anything to make your stay the best it could be. Beware you will be charged 10% gratutiy and another 18% taxes on top of the room rate. I assume this is common in Mexico at 5-star hotels. Two very nice negative edge pools on the property as well as a fitness center. We would definit...
room was clean hotel is showing it's age. No handle on sliding door on outside to come into room from veranda. No comfortable chair in room. Faucets in wash basin leak and hard to close. Towels seem old and rough.
I liked the beach, the localization and the kindness of the hotel staff Room cleaning more quick and less night noise.
This is a very warm and friendly hotel, with excellent location and facilities.
We got a really good deal at the Krystal so it was worth the money. The view was excellent from the balcony. The pool was nice. Very clean. Staff was friendly. Excellent location close to restaurants and shopping. Beware of items being charged to your credit card. Keep receipts. Air conditioner and toilet leaked a bit but no big deal. Food and drinks at the hotel a little high. Beach was a little rough but clean.
the people good guest service excellant location room price eating on the hotel grounds is over priced for the quality of the food standard rooms are showing there age i belive i paid about half regular price so it was allright
very nice staff and a perfect location room maintenance could be a bit better, at my room the bathroom was a bit worn.
The rooms were clean, the hotel is well located. But the staff at the reception is very slow in the check in and check out, they are not very helpful or nice, I can even call the a little rude. The people at the reception must be more serviceable, pleasant and helpful
room was cleaned- cleaned- once in 7 days we were there. Took 3 calls to get towels- they forgot to replace them when they came in to clean. The rest of the week they came in to make the beds and nothing more, leaving dirty floors and more shampoo. We were greeted at the front desk by a very unfriendly receptionist-seemed it hurt for her to smile! If you're looking for a cheap room this place is for you--I've never not liked a hotel or written a complaint but this time I was truly disappointed...the all inclusive domestic drinks were the highlight and most likely what made it tolerable...
The pool was awesome. Missed not having lounge chairs on the beach. Hercules couldn't have been more accommodating. A quiet relaxing vacation.
We had just a wonderful time. The staff is the best! Great Service overall. H and C were the absolute best!! The only complaint I would have is there was a few too many kids.
CONSIDERING THIS HOTEL?... BE ADVISED: Excessively loud nightclub noise/music is a real problem at this hotel. The hotel is surrounded by three nightclubs and they are permitted to party on until 5:00 am, or beyond, seven days a week! These are open air nightclubs, so the building does not contain the sound. The open style hotel architecture and single pane windows, that do not seal, contributes to the transmission of this offensive sound. These clubs go long and loud even if they have only a few customers. One morning I visited these clubs at 2:30 am, because I was unable to sleep. Carlos & Charlies had only a few customers and Park Royal had seven customers, all were seated at the bar. No one appeared to be particularly interested in the music, but the music volume was still excessive! When they do have a large group of people the noise is unbearable, especially when they add a screaming D.J. to the scenario. I spent the last two weeks of January 2008 at this hotel. The e...
People have complained about the food, I thought it was fine. The beds are hard as a rock though.
The physical facilities at the hotel are very adequate and I really liked the attributes of a small hotel. The beach is great, the rooms are comfortable, nice pools, and the grounds are carefully maintained. However, I experienced two major disappointments during my vacation that will stop me from staying there again. 1. The practice of guests being permitted to reserve poolside tables & chairs 2. The excessively loud evening and early morning nightclub noise/music from the three nightclubs that surround the hotel
Front desk personnel are friendly & efficient. Hercules is the best poolside server! Food is excellent. Room cleaned early each day and attention to artistic floral/towel arrangements. All personnel is friendly and helpful.
We spent 2 weeks at the pacifica and spent almost every breakfast at this hotel instead. The staff are friendly, fun and very accommodating. We plan to go back and stay here instead of the pacifica at twice the price
We had a great time! Staff upgraded our room for an ocean view w/o extra charge.
This will be our 4th year at this hotel. The staff has proven to be very comforting. I do find the beds to be a little hard however at my request they provided a cusion. Carlos is a great bartender and service over all is excellent. Food is good not over the top great but not over priced either. This hotel has been a great get away for us and we plan on returning for a long time.
Very pleased with all aspects of the hotel and amenities. Had more to offer than the descriptions I found online. Also the location couldn't have been better, able to walk or take a bus to all the sites.
Problem: Guests reserving poolside tables & chairs\n I recently returned from a two week stay at the Posada Real Hotel, Ixtapa. There is indeed an active informal, hotel policy permitting guests to reserve poolside tables & chairs. Hotel management does nothing to discourage the practice and in fact they encourage it. Each day, these self centered guests leave their towels, books and other personal items on the desired tables and chairs, thus insuring that they have the same site at the pool. This was done, day after day, at most of the poolside tables. Hotel management never removed these 'reserving' items at the end of the day, thus encouraging this behavior. When I complained, the hotel management suggested that I do the same. I didn't take their advice, because that goes against my concept of fair play. One group of guests, from Brownville, WI, created their own little compound area by pulling two tables and extra chairs together and that was their exclusive domain for...
