We had stayed there previously and returned based on the all-inclusive package, beautiful pools and beach, combined with adjacent scuba facilities. Cozumel has some of most beautiful reefs in the world and it also offers easy access to the mainland to explore Mayan ruins and the local "cenotes". Again, our family had a fantastic vacation. Meals for standard dining buffet style were always good, but not exceeding expectations. It was difficult to schedule dinner reservations at the three special restaurants they offer. In some areas cleanliness of the grounds could be improved. The only other negative aspect, was the bars do not open until 10:00 am - difficult to get a Christmas morning bloody mary.
Friendly staff Disorganized management. The restaurants have a very disorganized way to arrange reservations. The reservations are scheduled to a specific time and customers are guided to their tables 10 to 20 minutes later. The buffet is always full because the staff doesn't know how to manage the sitting of guests. There is always a long line at the host section. In addition, when going to the Italian restaurant we had to wait 40 minutes to get our food served on the table. This is unacceptable.
This was our 3rd stay at the Presidente and it never disappoints! The hotel staff is always smiling and courteous, the concierge did a great job of recommending restaurants. The grounds are beautifully manicured and the beaches are very clean and very safe for the kids. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea and the new furnishings are very nice! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath was large. My wife took advantage of the spa and the the staff at Scuba Du was great as always! If you do not see something on the menu the service was quick to accomodate your needs. Looking forward to our next visit!
Intercontinental- Presidente is a nice fading upscale hotel - after check-in we were IMMEDIATELY directed to a desk to sign up for sales pitch to their vacation club in exchange for breakfast and a 24 hour car rental. The ''club'' gives you a room triple the size and double the ammenities (two sinks, bathtub, sofas & chairs) of non-club members who pay triple the price for a VERY average room. We didn't know that the free breakfast included the company of the salesman. The ''club'' category room is very nice, but was not available for us as non-club members even though there were several available. The room we paid quite handsomely for was not adequate for three people. Staff is very friendly, english comprehension is marginal. Food is delicious. Plastic bar glasses observed simply being rinsed off and reused. Beach lovely. My son & husband obtained their scuba certification right on site. Seems to be a fun family place with lots of little children. Older children kept us up several nights playing beer pong below our deck. Desk was responsive with each phone call made about the yelling and screaming throughout the morning hours. We paid a decent amount of money for a very marginal room. Members of the vacation club pay less than we paid and get a room triple the size and double the ammenities. The knowledge of it all put a little damper on our vacation which was important to us because our college-age son wanted to go with his friends! I'd recommend the place - the spa was great - again, if they can't read or understand english, they probably don't understand your health issues - point ! If you are not a member of the vacation club, try to pay about $.
I love this hotel! The beach (s) are beautiful, the resort never feels busy even though we travel at prime time season over spring break. My only comment is that it is so expensive to eat at this resort! We try to go off site for supper, but even so just breakfast and poolside lunches cost almost as much as our hotel room (for my family of four). The hotel is super clean, our king size bed was the best. The hotel is looking a little tired and is needing a few cosmetic updates in the near future. We love the pro dive shop on site Scuba Du; and thoroughly enjoyed becoming PADI certified with Sandra who is the best.
This was our second stay at the Presidente ! We had a wonderful family vacation with our young adult children and teens . They said it was the best vacation ever ! The staff is friendly and helpful ! The snorkeling in front of the hotel is amazing . Scuba Du dive shop on premises was great also ! All of our chidren did the Discover Dive course with them and loved it ! Their staff is extraordinary as well ! We can't wait to return !!!
From the welcome we received when we arrived to the hospitality each day we were impressed! We felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. They even had books by each pool to read. The food was delicious, the view was even better!! We had always stayed at an all-inclusive resort, so this was a change for us. We expected to spend a fortune on food and drinks, but were pleasantly suprised that we got what we paid for. The most relaxing resort we have ever been to,..and we travel a lot. The only thing we missed at this resort was entertainment in the evening, it was DEAD!
Good breakfast, good room
Good location, steps from the ferry dock and close to shopping, restaurants etc. I felt very safe. Room was very sparse in terms of decor, and smelt a little mouldy. This was a partner for the GFNY bike race, so provided a free breakfast to the riders staying there. The breakfast was awful! Minimal selection, no "hot" items, and the coffee carafe seemed to be perpetually empty. I realize they had a lot of mouths to feed, but as this acted as the main fuel source for most riders, the lack of protein options was discouraging.
-Once you tip the staff, service quality is top notch -If you make friends with any of the servers, they will help you get special meals that aren't on any menus -Alcohol quality was good -If you're into all inclusives, this one is about as good as they come -Any activity you would want to do is riddled with upcharges, it felt a lot like Vegas in that way. -Anything you have to pay for is far more expensive than can be justified. Things like plastic flip-flops made in Mexico are priced in the $500+Mxn range. -You miss out on the authentic Mexican experience staying on the resort, but you waste a disproportionate amount of money by not eating and drinking your fill at the included restaurants.
ALL of the Staff Members were outstanding, helpful and cheerful. They couldn't have been better Ambassadors for our 9 day stay. The dinners at Bordeaux for French Cuisine were the ONLY meals worth eating. All of the meals were small portioned entrees, with absolutely NO green vegetables included or visible. The deceptive photos of the hotel were 40 years old. It is severely Outdated. Rooms were in need of a complete refurbishment since NONE of the room's features, furniture or fixtures matched ANY of the deceptively old photos. Our Room -- 1410 -- shown as the corner room on the ground floor swim-up lazy river pool -- was SO freaking loud as it's next to the main walkway NOT shown where all of the outdoor equipment, bar goods, pool towels are taken early every morning. The Room Doors have NO Sound insulation; all of the noise of EVERY person or cart coming by goes straight under your front door. There are NO Soft closing front doors, so EVERY DOOR SLAMS SHUT. The room air conditioning WOULDN'T STAY ON. 3 of 4 days I had to call for service, and it still didn't work. MOSQUITOS & FLYS in the room at night kept us under attack in bed EVERY NIGHT. Unlimited-Luxury is more than just a phrase, and NOTHING LUXURY applied to this property. There simply was NO luxury anything. And NO OCEAN VIEWS from my Swim-up Preferred Suite. THE ONLY rooms to consider a Swim-Up Suites; all other room types are just not worth it.
