Walked in to the lobby at 11AM. The check-in time wasn't included in my e-mail so I had to take my chances when I was dropped off. I was informed that check-in wouldn't be until about 2PM. I waited maybe four minutes before the staff came back and gave us a room that had just been cleaned for me. While I waited, another staff member had just arrived and also asked if I had been helped yet. Both were incredibly helpful and kind. I was given a key card to a non-smoking room and it looked/felt clean enough. The A/C blew ice cold and got the room frigid in under 5 minutes which was amazing for that humid SC air. Everything was basic and bare minimum but for a last minute booking, it was average price. Fridge and tub were cleaned. Small kitchenette and small bathroom. You should stay here if you have your own vehicle. It's somewhat problematic walking from the corner of this property up and around to the local gas station or Waffle House for food. My bed cover had two cigarette holes in them and I could tell they'd been washed but there for a while. I wasn't bothered by anyone. You can hear the interstate quite clearly through the windows. People obviously don't stay here because it was their first choice. They stay because surrounding hotels were booked and they got this last minute. Again, you get what you paid for!
I only stayed one night, but it was great. The staff was very friendly, the suite was clean! The couch was very comfortable and I discovered a new movie playing on Sho2! I would definitely stay again! Wifi is pretty good for being free. I really loved the little soap bar :) When someone smoked a cigarette outside my door, the smell when straight through the AC and into my face. Luckily, I too smoke so I wasn't too upset about it. It was a bit tucked away but my cab driver knew what he was doing! :)
The staff was very polite. Rooftop bar was amazing. Very nice rooms
it was a beautiful historic building-not your typical sheraton. It looked more like a castle than a hotel. The rooms and decor were great I have already recommended it to many friends Lisa Clemons
Stop by the rooftop bar at sunset for the best view of Columbia.
good workout facility hard to get a hold of staff TV reception horrible
We really liked the atmosphere and the friendly staff. They made our stay very comfortable. The farmer's market on Saturday morning was a special treat with many great food options.
Valet was great , very prompt and courteous. Overall bad experience.Staff not personable. Room very cold and not very clean,(found hair in bath tub) Valet staff very nice. Breakfast room service disappointing. I will not recommend to friends and family
Location Rusty towel bars; unexpected stay in poorly designed handicap access room; unique bar (in old bank vault) closed; ice machines on 4 floors inoperable; laundry chute door left open with no staff anywhere around making us glad we didn't bring our children with us. Will never stay there again.
Definitely worth the stay. Updated rooms in old historic building.
Location Old, dirty, creaky floors, rusting hinges, noisy, etc. The housekeeping staff (and using that term for them is a stretch) was the rudest, kst inconsiderate I have ever encountered.
Location I entered the property with s ankle injury and soft cast. While in shower I held onto hand hold bar and it collapsed and fell apart with large metal peices falling onto my leg creating tremendous pain Unbelieve you would approve a room for rental in that shadow.
The hotel structure is exquisite, architecturally. The interior design is timeless with eclectic accents. The two sculpture heads in the lobby are a wonderful surprise. The front desk and room service delivery staff were extremely good and concerned about our happiness, But the room we had was next to the stairwell and ice machine. All night long the heavy door to the stairwell opened and slammed. The ice maker made noise constantly and we couldn't sleep. We put our room service order form out at 9:30p for breakfast the next morning. The order form was collected and lost by room service. We re-ordered and the food was horrific. Worse, the Starbucks coffee they tout was weak, see-through, and tasted awful.
Good location 1 o'clock in the morning the transformer and all of the electricity went out and made everybody evacuate the building And her around 4 o'clock they decided to let everybody back in but the power was not going to be fixed . So we had to get all of our stuff with no power to see on the top 9 floor to get another hotel which they said they would accommodate but they have not yet done so so I had to pay for two hotels and no sleep because I had to be up the same day at 7 o'clock so the time I got to the new hotel at 5 o'clock it was pointless trying to sleep . Hoping they will refund my money for the trip and the hassle of everything .
rooms clean breakfast was nice location was good You must make this a non smoking facility. As a non smoker some smoke has never bothered me but this was above and beyond with smoke on our hall 4th floor. If I booked ever again and cannot get non smoking room, I would not stay there again
Very kind Afro America woman who was the front desk person. Breakfast was wonderful. Room was clean and easily accessible. Shower could have had more water pressure. There was only a shower, not a tub. It was fine for us but parents with little children might need a tub.
The room was comfortable and staff was helpful. I'd stay there again. Bathroom could use some updating, but the room was nice overall.
The staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to get information for us on the area. They even came out from behind the counter to access the public computer to show us locations and offerings for the area. N/A
