Walking distance from Rogers Place (15 min) Good value Nice staff Comfortable bed Dated lobbies/rooms seem slightly dingy This hotel wants to be a super nice but doesn't seem like they want to invest in the accommodations
Staff were very courteous under obviously trying circumstances. It's not the hotel's fault but I wish we had known that it was full of guests attending a giant Rave party down the street. The room was nice but the activity in the neighbourhood and in the halls all night was disturbing to say the least. It might be wise to check on events going on at the nearby Shaw convention center when booking -especially if they involve large crowds and open drug use.
Great place to stay for our wedding night. Comfy bed, recently remodeled room with great facilities. We had dinnew at LA Ronde and it was fantastic! Got woken up at 3am to woman banging on a door three doors down yelling "is she in there?!?!" Commotion lasted 30 minutes
My room was very comfortable, quiet floor, wonderful bed, liked the bath robe, great customer service. Nope!
Loved the very comfortable king sized bed and the complimentary Starbucks coffee in the room. Location perfect in downtown within lots of cafes/shops. We prefer carrying our own luggage to our room, but there was a porter who literally took our luggage while we were checking in and without asking us, took it to our room, of course expecting a tip. We found it somewhat pushy, not our style.
rooms were spacious, beds extremely comfortable. there is complimentary starbucks coffee in the room as well as the lobby in the morning. mini bar fridge is meant to be used to keep things at room temperature rather than to cool things down. in order to get a refrigerator, one had to be requested from housekeeping and they were all out of them when we stayed here.
Good location next to Rexall Place. Close to LRT station. Quick and easy access from yellowhead highway.
Carpet was discussing and appeared to not have been vacuumed in weeks, overall cleanliness was not good at all!
It looked okay.,, Crazy drugged up people in lobby. Bad service. Room had left over makeup and hair in bed.. To say the least. Cops all over the hotel... I'll never go back.
Welcome, efficient check-in, proximity to Red Arrow bus depot and Grant McEwen University, 105 Street cafe breakfast buffet excellent, efficient check-out, quiet, comfortable non-smoking room with good bedding. The room was ready for a makeover - plastic shower/tub was slippery. Elevators are slow and ready for renovation. Hotel facilities directory was missing. Sliding closet door was de-railed.
Clean room, new carpet, looked like it was recently painted, in other words, the upkeep was good. Nice touches-larger bars of soap, large shampoo etc. nice quality towels, corners of the bathroom were clean--no soil buildup Would be nice to have crisper, ironed sheets and pillowcases.
Comfortable beds. Close to Rexall Place. Fourteen dollars for hotel guest parking.
We enjoyed the fact that we had such a short distance to shopping in eaton center. Thanks.
See Cons, as there was more than there was Pros. However, I should give my compliments to the reception and housekeeping staff, who were friendly and accommodating. I left my watch in the first room we were given (immediately switched), and housekeeping did report this, and it was quickly returned to me at reception when I noticed. I chose the Sutton Place in Edmonton based on a good experience at their location in Vancouver, which is a nice hotel. The Edmonton property is just not of the same caliber by a mile. The problems started on arrival: parking is not obvious, and no valet was present for directions (it was admittedly Sunday night). The parkade elevator was broken, and stairwell lock, so we ended up exiting through the back into a garbage filled alley. The first room we got had a very loud/on-the-verge of breaking heating fan, so I immediately requested a change of room (which was granted). The amenities are less than Sutton in Vancouver - the mini bar was empty (not stocked - I had been hoping to get some $10 chocolate on the company's dime), the wallpaper in the bathroom old and dirty (fan didn't work). The Television did not carry Sportsnet West, which forced us to go down to the lobby late at night to watch the Flames (lose unfortunately) in the playoffs. The elevators are old, the buttons don't work properly and when you arrive on the ground floor the movement of the lift is gut-wrenching. The hotel restaurant - Chop - is nicely appointed however has a relatively limited menu which we struggled with, as it was dominated by steak. Although admittedly a steakhouse, a hotel restaurant needs more options.
Were only stayed there for a few hours but really liked the location, service and price
