Oberoi are very attentive to the small things and making you comfortable. One concierge, Mr. Rahan, was really on the ball for outings and ideas. Staff were courteous and smiling. I used the Spa facilities each evening for the steam room and the ladies were lovely. On checkout, I didn't appreciate being held for 30 minutes for a 8,600 rupee dinner charge that was not mine ($160) during a time of day when I was heading off for a boat ride and not even in the hotel. The delay caused me to miss the check in time for my flight. I had to book new tickets home that cost $300 to fly via Delhi instead of Direct. Secondly, I didn't appreciate being lied to by a concierge who said a yellow taxi would refuse to take me to my boat launch. He assured me the hotel car was only a small amount more, but failed to tell me 465 rupees more. I grabbed an uber on the way back from the help of an India family for 65 rupees, who assured me taxis, Ubers and Olas would take me everywhere. For me it is the principle of being lied to.
The property is very well maintained, true to it's heritage! Hospitality was great and so were all the services.
